Video Production & Live VJing for Jimi Jazz
Project Overview
Since March 2024, Kudzu Records has partnered with Jimi Jazz to produce a series of high-energy DJ sets for his YouTube channel. Our team handles the full technical production by filming Jimi on a green screen and capturing high-fidelity audio from his mixing setup. We then combine that footage with custom VJ visuals created by Thalia, who performs live to the music to ensure everything flows with the theme of the playlist.
The visuals are a playful mix of custom animations, video loops, retro cartoons, meme edits, found footage, random mixtapes, and people dancing that are all run through filters and audio-reactive shaders for a truly immersive look. These diverse motion graphics perfectly match Jimi’s signature style across genres like drum and bass, reggaeton, house, and funk. Even as Jimi shifts his focus toward original music and performing with Molten Guava, this project remains a standout example of how we merge technical video production with improvisational digital art.

James "Jimi Jazz" Goodman is a Space Coast native DJ, Producer, and audio technician with experience performing between Florida and San Juan. He is heavily inspired by A-Trak, Flying Lotus, Diplo, and Kaytranada, and his influences pull from a wide variety of musical styles.
