They Die

Project Overview
The music on this album is inspired by the intellectual zeitgeist of the 1988 John Carpenter film "They Live." In the film, evil alien zombies control humanity with propaganda and toxic radio waves. The struggle to "put on the glasses" and see the hand of dictatorship inside our democracy is what was on my mind when writing the songs for this album. The goal of this project is to make the listener think, as well as put a tune in the head.
About
Rob Slaughter
Rob Slaughter is a producer and musician whose creative journey began in early childhood, rooted in his first instrument, the piano. Driven by a natural, intrinsic compulsion to create, he finds his greatest reward in the process of turning nothing into something. His artistic identity is defined by a deep appreciation for contrast, resulting in a diverse body of work that spans a wide variety of genres. With a stylistic range and chameleon-like approach to songwriting, Slaughter draws his closest musical parallels to the eclectic spirit of David Bowie.
